Stingray city for four
March 31, 2017
Hello everyone!! I am sorry in advance for not posting in awhile but we are just enjoying every second here. There are so many things to do and see and try that we are soaking it all in!
So our cute friends ( Keena & Tyler Peery) decided to come join us for the weekend and it was such a blast! It was so fun to show other people the island and get to watch someone else experience it for the first time.
One of the first things we did was rent a car and ride all around the island. We went to starfish and rum point. We enjoyed some delicious Caribbean food at a restaurant up there and it was divine. We even were filmed by HGTV for their show “Caribbean Life” so you may catch us on the show in august- set the DVR!!

After we went to Spotts beach, which as you know if where we first swam with turtles! We laid out, snorkeled and enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was seriously perfect. Keena and Tyler loved the turtles and were amazed at the experience of just swimming with wild turtles! It was so awesome to see that they were so pumped about it.
The next day we decided to hit up Sting Ray city. Just a quick background on this place, back in the olden times of the island when fishing was more popular, fisherman would stop at the sand bar after fishing. They would do this because it was shallow and easy to get rid of the fish guts from what they caught that day. Well after awhile, the sting rays started to figure out that they could get free and easy food from this and became very friendly with the fisherman and locals who would go there. After awhile, it became a very popular tourist destination where people can literally stand up in the middle of the ocean and have GIANT stingrays eat food out their hands and swim up against them- crazy right?!
Okay back to our experience, so we hop on a boat with maybe 15 other people and head out to the sand bar. The ride was gorgeous and it was so fun to see the island from a different view. Once we got to stingray city, our tour guides gave us a quick couple of tips on how to interact with the stingrays and off the boat we went!
I am not going to lie…. I was a little ( okay maybe a lot) freaked out in the beginning! But how can you not be?! These dark creatures lurking in the water are surrounding your legs and rubbing up against your back and you can do NOTHING to defend yourself. Okay maybe I am being a little dramatic but it was kinda( sorta) freaky. So after a little bit…. I warmed up to them and enjoyed stinking my head under the water to see them all swimming around and I even fed them. We took pictures and enjoyed how slimy they were.

After we were done at the sand bar, they took us to two other snorkeling places. One was a giant coral reef and there were tons of fish everywhere and even a few stingrays that followed the boat over. I got some cool shots of a stingray swimming along with Clint and even rubbing all over his back.
Overall I would say this was a 10/10 experience. The boat ride, the tour guides, the stingrays, the snorkeling and just being out in the water were so surreal. Sure it was a little nerve racking but you just have to stay calm and everything will be okay. And now I can check another item off my bucket list! Swim with Stingrays CHECK!
We had such a blast with our friends and we were SO sad when they left! We loved having more people to explore with out here, so if anyone wants to come visit... HIT ME UP!!
Here are some more cute photos because why not!

Well we can't complain! This weekend was one for the books and living here is just an incredible experience. We are so grateful for opportunities like this for young married couples or just young people in general! If you want more information about why we are out here, feel free to comment or message me!
Thanks for the love and support. XOXO
