Rainy days and Ding Ding rides
November 23, 2016
The weather has been rainy the past couple of days so we finally decided to brave it and head over to Hong Kong island. Instead of taking the subway like we usually do, we decided to take the Star Ferry over. When it is only $2 HK ( which is like 25 cents US) it is a great deal and a cool view on the way. Once we got to the island we enjoyed some yummy sandwiches and watched the rainy view.
After we ate our lunch we headed to the IFC 2 building to go to the 55th floor for the monetary museum. Once we got to the building we had to give our passports to scan so that they could give us a cool badge to go up to the top. We felt like we were famous people or something having to check in! LOL Once we got in the elevator we pressed the button for floor 55 and off we went! Our ears were popping the whole way up because it was so fast. Once we got to the museum we enjoyed the AMAZING view which was the main reason we went! It was so cool seeing the city from a birds eye view. The buildings are incredible and all so different. I stood in awe the whole time!
Once we were done at the building we got to ride the Ding Dings around the city. We loved getting to see the city from a different perspective and not running into people every 2 seconds while walking on the streets. We got to take some amazing pictures of the buildings and loved seeing all of the city lights.
Once we were done riding around, we got off at the pier to take some pictures of the Ferris wheel and the city lights. While we were there people were doing yoga, walking on tight ropes and having dance lessons. It was very entertaining to say the least!
We took the ferry back once we were done at the pier and had some dinner! We then went to the park where they are showing a Christmas movie on the side of a building. I am not going to lie, I was a little sad that we are not going to be home for the holidays this year but Hong Kong has changed that. They have Christmas music playing and holiday decorations everywhere!!! Even more than there are in Utah!! Just imagine giant snow man in the mall along with HUGE Christmas trees all over!! I LOVE IT!!
Well that’s all for today folks. Even with the rainy weather we had a fun day exploring Hong Kong!
Thanks for following along!
