My 10 favorite things about THAILAND
November 3, 2016
So since our time in Thailand is dwindling, I thought I should do a fun post about my 10 favorite things about this beautiful place.
1. BANANA PANCAKES: delicious, crepe like yumminess that you can have with nutella, peanut butter, bananas, cinnamon basically WHAT EVER you want on them. They are to die for and only $2 US.
2. THE BEACHES: you can go from Patong hustle and bustle of the main beach to secluded private beaches in less than 5 minutes. We could have gone to a different beach everyday and still not of gone to all of them. There are endless and it is a fun adventure going to a different one every time! (Tri-Tong is our fav and no one is there FYI)
3. BUDDHA STATUES & TEMPLES: it felt like there was a new temple on almost every corner when we would explore the city and there are 6 Buddha statues (Wat Khao Rang, Wat Phra Thong, Phuket Big Buddha, Wat Mai Luang Pu Supha, Wat Chalong, Wat Srisoonthorn) I can think off of the top of my head to visit! I loved all of the beautiful art and colors that go into the details of the temples. You could stare at them all day and still be in awe of the gorgeousness. Just make sure to dress appropriately and not in shorts or a tank!
4. NIGHT MARKETS: wow. Is all I can say about the weekend night market in Phuket. It is HUGE. With dozens of rows mazing in and out of each other you can get seriously lost in it. They have anything from fake purses to shoes to hand made Thai goods. It is a must see and we may have gone every weekend that we have been here so you KNOW it’s good. DON'T FORGET to buy some of the elephant pants for $3! They are super comfy and so so cute!!
5. LONG TAIL BOATS: all of a sudden you will see a beautiful river with long tail boats in it and you just have to stop for pictures. It is the most picturesque thing and I can’t get enough of them.
6. MASSAGES: $8 for an hour full body massage. It doesn’t get much better than that. Just be careful about where you go because some places might not be the massage you are thinking of…. If you know what I mean.
7. ELEPHANTS: the highlight of our time here in Thailand was our elephant excursion. I cannot express how much it meant to me being able to be more connected to the amazing creatures in a more personal setting. I loved every second of it…. I am still trying to convince Clint to let us do it again before we leave next week. WISH ME LUCK!
8. THE COLORFUL BUILDINGS: I am a lover of cute building and color so if you stick me in a country that has those I will automatically FALL in love. End of story.
9. THAI CURRY: green, red, yellow, what ever color it is, it is DANG good. Just make sure to say NOT SPICY if you are anything like me because I am a baby when it comes to that.
10. LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD DRIVING: now that was a change for us coming from America, but as we have gotten used to it and it’s pretty fun! I still get freaked out sometimes when we are driving the scooter and Clint pulls out onto the right/wrong side of the road, if that makes any sense. JUST BE CAREFUL!
SO overall that was pretty hard to narrow down my favorite things about this place because the country really has so much to offer. There is a little something for everyone to love here and that's what makes Thailand so great. So if it is not on your bucket list, I would put it there and maybe a little closer to the top of the list because it is that AWESOME!
