Koh Phi Phi Don & MONKEY'S EVERYWHERE!
October 27, 2016
Swadeeeekaaaa everyone!! Today we embarked on one of our bucket list items! Visiting the Koh Phi Phi Don islands around Thailand. Just google that and you will be in awe of the beauty. So our friends from Las Vegas are here for their honeymoon right now and they wanted to do some excursions with us! We booked it through one of the stands on the beach. We researched a lot before and were able to figure out what kind of deal we could score. Since there were four of us and we wanted to book the islands and an elephant tour for tomorrow, we got it for only $60 US a person! Now that is INSANELY cheap. We were pretty happy about that because sometimes you can only get the islands for that much & we scored two full day excursions for that price. SO what was included in our tour was a luxury slow boat ride to the islands and pick up from our hotel. We got to sightsee around Phi Phi Lay island, including Maya Bay (where the movie “The Beach” was filmed), Loh Samah Bay, Pileh Cove & Viking cave.
We got to swim and snorkel on monkey beach and the water was GORGEOUS. So clear and perfect. We could see all of the little fishes and coral. We swam to shore to see the monkeys. Now I am not going to lie, I was pretty freaked out. Monkeys can be very violent especially when they want food. We stayed cautious but still enjoyed it. We saw the cutest baby monkey and this crazy guy kept trying to pick it up! The whole time the baby monkey would make this shrieking sound and these two bigger monkeys ran up, jumped on the guy and BITE HIM! I was terrified. That is rabbis staring right at ya. But overall it was super fun to see them climbing everywhere but I wasn’t crazy enough to pet them! Better safe than sorry!
Our next stop was Phi Phi Don, where we got an all you can eat buffet! It was delicious with fresh fruits and thai food, chinese food and some american. After you ate, with of course a gorgeous view, you could swim in the inlet of water. It was amazing how clear the water was and how you could walk on it for miles! It was so shallow and we found tons of sand dollars. I loved it!! We wish we would of had more time there!
After we spent some time swimming, we walked back to the boat for the ride home. Now this was where things got a little too crazy for me. The boat was moving SO much and everyone was getting so seasick. We were sitting inside and I couldn’t handle it anymore, I had to get some fresh air. It felt like forever on the ride home and as I’m writing this I’m getting sea sick again LOL but hey I only threw up a couple of times so that’s a bonus right? So word of advice, if you get sea sick, get ready for a ride back to shore if you do the slow boat. I will have to let you know how the fast boat is in comparison on our future excursions.
BUT we made it back to shore safe and sound and got our ride back to the hotel. It was such a fun day! We got to see monkeys, go snorkeling, and experience the gorgeous islands just right off the coast of Thailand. I would 100% do it again even with the seasickness.
We are now heading to get some yummy Indian food! Happy Thursday! XOXO
