Hong Kong Disney!
November 28, 2016
I have always had a love for Disney ever since I was a kid! My parents took me to Disneyland multiple times as well as Disney world! I have such fond memories of those places so you could say I was delighted to go to Hong Kong Disney! Today was especially magical; there is just something about Disney during Christmas time that makes it even more magical than usual. So getting to Disney was fairly simple. There is a MRT that you can hop off after going to a different station and then it takes you directly there! The train is even mickey mouse themed with cute windows and decorations. IT WAS THE CUTEST!
Once we got to the station we were able to hop in line to print our tickets from our code. Last night we decided to book tickets online with this app but they never sent us the voucher! So we were so nervous that they were never going to send it but after some emailing and calling we got it delivered SECONDS I kid you not before we got to the counter. It was stressful but we are happy it worked out.
When we were in the park, we grabbed a map and put some notifications in our phone of the shows and parades we didn’t want to miss. I highly recommend everyone do this because it can be so easy to get caught up in the fun of going on rides that you miss the shows! The first ride we rode was Hyperspace mountain! It’s just like space mountain in Disney land BUT the line was 5 minutes MAX. It was so fast that we didn’t even finish our conversation and we were already on the ride. I couldn’t believe it! I thought the park would be a lot busier than it was. Granted we did go on a Monday but still Asia is crowded!! After that we went to the grizzly mine ride and once again we basically walked onto the ride. The best part was it was like the whole day! The longest wait we had was 20 minutes maybe, it felt shorter and that is just what the sign said! We were getting on rides so fast that we asked to wait so that we could be in the front of the ride because why not?!
Once we were done with rides for awhile, we went and saw the Lion King show. It was so cool! Giant elephant, giraffe, lions and other animals were in the show as well as incredible singing and dancing! They also had fire dancers which is always a plus!! We felt like we were seeing a Broadway show it was that impressive. The money to get into the park was worth it right there we thought.
Next item on our agenda was the Flight of Fantasy parade on Main Street. Like I said before, the park was not that busy, sure there was a lot of people but it was easy to find a spot 10 minutes before the parade started. The parade had incredible floats with dancers and characters! We loved it!!
Of course after being out in the heat during the show we decided that we should get a BB8 Slurpee and enjoy sitting in some nice shade to just bask in the glory of Disney. After we rode more rides, took some pictures in front of the castle and just enjoyed having the freedom to do what ever we wanted!
The second show of the day we saw was Mickeys Story book show! This one also had amazing singing and dancing as well as lights and stage set-ups! Don’t worry; we will put all of it in our end of trip video so you will be able to see! We loved being little kids and getting so excited about seeing mickey and our favorite characters. It was so fun to just run around the park with my bestie!

Once it got dark, we headed down to Main Street to watch the night time parade and fireworks. Of course both of these were incredible because it’s Disney! What do you expect?! Huge floats, songs, dancers, characters galore!! SO MUCH FUN!!!
Okay so here are some of our tips and tricks to Hong Kong Disney:
- Make a reminder on your phone for all of the events that you want to do during the day so that you don’t miss out.
- Always carry a park map around with you so that you don’t have to look for one.
- Figure out which rides let you do fast passes and DO IT! ( hyperspace mountain & Winnie the Pooh are the only ones here)
- Do all of your favorite rides first so that you don’t miss out on any.
- Go to the shows!! They are free and get you off your feet for a while.
- Stay hydrated during the day, no one wants to get heat stroke.
- Go to the parades! You don’t want to miss out on them!
- Eat at the space café in tomorrow land! Super yummy and more affordable for the travelers on a budget.
- If the lines aren’t too long and you don’t mind waiting a little longer, ask to ride at the front. You get a whole different experience and it’s AWESOME!
- If you take pictures in front of the castle at a time when it is not super crowded, the professional Disney photographers will offer to take your picture for you on your own camera for free! One of them offered to take our picture and they knew how to work our Nikon and I could not be happier! SHOUT OUT to them!
Overall we could not of had a better day here! It was perfect weather, not too crowded, tons of great entertainment, yummy treats and fun! We now have a bucket list goal of going to every Disney in the world together!! Who wants to join us?? We love travel buddies!!! I hope you all have a happy week filled with fun!!
