Big Buddha & Elephant surprise
October 23, 2016
The weather was beautiful today so we decided to go on an adventure to one of the must sees in Phuket, Thailand. We google mapped where the Big Buddha on the hill was and we were on our way. Since we were on a scooter, we decided to take the scenic route which goes past Karon beach and through the city. On the way up the hill to the Buddha we passed a place where you can see a bird, snake or monkey show! There are seriously so many fun things to do here! It is amazing.
At the Buddha, they have lots of temples and worshiping areas around it. Inside the Buddha you can see where the monks are doing their daily worshiping and watch them for awhile. You can make a donation to help finish the inside construction of the Buddha as well. We decided to purchase a gold leaf as a donation and to have our names always in Thailand. We wrote on it and hung it up on one of the trees around the statue. You can also purchase a marble square that and write your name on it and it will go on the inside of the construction of the Buddha.
After we were done at the Buddha, we started the drive back down the hill. On the way down we ran into some elephant trekking places. They had lots of elephants on the side of the road for their tours and excursions. They also had a baby elephant that you could buy food for and take pictures with. We decided to spend the $3 to get to fed and touch the baby elephant! It was so fun getting slobbery kisses from the elephant and hearing it make funny noises. It was the highlight of the day and we weren't even expecting it!
That's all folks! We love love love Thailand. STAY TUNED for more fun times. XOXO
