A week in San Francisco!
January 14, 2017
Okay people get ready for a lot of photos in this post because I am going to sum up our whole week in San Fran in one post, so be prepared!
So this was both mine and Clint's first time in the beautiful city and man it did not disappoint. We could not of been more impressed with the gorgeous bridges, ocean, buildings and culture that is packed into such a small area. It felt like we would be in a completely different place almost every street we walked on. Each street had so much to offer and don’t even get me started on the "whole in the wall" bake shops that are AMAZING.
One of our first nights exploring we decided to go to Bobs donuts and it was so delicious! After getting our sugar fill, we took an Uber to china town because did you even go to San Fran if you don’t visit china town? SIDE NOTE: if you haven’t used uber before (like us) when you sign up you get your first ride free and you can use my code: maicyg1ue to get another free ride! Just be aware that as soon as you type in the promo code it automatically uses the $20 on your next ride. So even if you are doing a small trip that’s only $4, it will still use the whole $20 and you don’t get it back. SO USE IT WISELY!
At china town, we went to the golden gate fortune cookie factory! There we got free samples and got to see how the cookies were made. SO FUN! We may have bought a huge bag that we have been snacking on throughout the week. Ooops!

After we were done exploring China town and reliving the oh "SO" yummy smells on the streets that we vividly remember from living in Asia, we walked to the Bay bridge to check out the gorgeous lights. The bridge was stunning and the city lights behind it make for the most picturesque view.
The next day we explored and decided to check out the roof top views of the place we were staying in…. well it didn’t last long until the security guard came and kicked us off but at least we got some cool shots before! Note to self: don’t wear heeled boots when walking on roofs LOL my bad! Also for those wondering we are using a Nikon D3300 for all of our pictures. We love it because it is 1. Super user friendly ( which makes it great for other tourists to take stunning pictures of us) 2. It is reasonably priced for first time photographers like us that just want to take great photos but not spend an arm and a leg. We highly recommend!
Now for our last day of exploring we borrowed a friends scooter and decided to explore the city that way! If it would have been a little bit warmer I would have suggested it to be the perfect way to explore the city. But even with the freezing wind I still recommend it 100% if you can handle a little cold.
Our adventure started at Mr. Holmes bake shop. This place is a must if you visit SF. The lines are out the door but its worth the wait to try the famous “croffin”. Yes you read that right, a muffin and croissant mixed together to create a beautiful baby of deliciousness. Don’t forget to take a picture with the oh so fab neon sign.

Next on the list of things to do and see was to hit up the famous painted ladies street and see the house from the show “ Full House”. We zoomed over the hilly streets in the scooter and got to take some pictures in front of it. I can not get over the architecture that makes up this place. It is something out of this world! I love the beautiful details that go into create each house and make them so unique! The colorful colors helps to!
Now for my favorite spot and the most well known landmark in SF was to visit the incredible golden gate bridge. It has always been on my bucket list to visit this amazing structure and it did not disappoint. Before we drove on it, we googled all of the “must” look out spots and decided to hit them up. We drove on the bridge and it was so fun having the wind in our hair and seeing the beautiful city behind us! I felt so much peace and joy in that moment and it was truly priceless. If anyone ever debates buying something vs spending the money on traveling and experiences I will always say experiences. Traveling is the only thing that makes you richer and the moment on the bridge confirmed that to me. I love making memories and reflecting on them! The new iPhone will only be new for so long but making memories will last a life time. Okay that was enough sappiness for one post. Enjoy the fun pictures of the bridge.
One of the other look out points we wanted to go to was called Kirby Cove. Now this was a 30 minute hike but it was so worth it. Not to mention the hike was surrounded by ocean, the bridge and greenery. What more could you ask for? We got to the end and enjoyed playing on the beach but were disappointed because the rope swing was cut down ( aka one of the main reasons we wanted to do the hike) but that’s okay because the pictures were worth it!
We were pretty tired from all of the exploring that we had done for the day so we went and got some Chipotle and walked around pier 39 and saw the sea lions. It was so fun! We have loved our week here in SF and wish we could stay longer!
Well that is it for this post! Check out my Top 10 things to do in San Fran post for a recap and more fun ideas! XOXO
