10 things to do in Cayman
April 17, 2017
1. Sting Ray city:
As you have seen by now, we have been three times and are debating going again that’s how much we LOVE it! It is such a great experience interacting with such incredible creatures and is truly unforgettable.
Cost: $35 US
2. Turtle farm:
Now this can be a full day activity or a couple of hours depending on what your schedule is like. You get to hold baby turtles, swim in a lagoon with dozens of turtles/ fishies and slide down the water slide at the pool. Oh and don’t forget to check out the nerf sharks and alligators!
Cost: $45 US
3. Seven mile beach:
Now if you are visiting the island, there is a high chance you will stay on this beach because it is the largest beach on the island. But fear not, if you are staying somewhere else you can still enjoy the pristine water and soft sand that it has to offer.
Cost: free
4. Visit HELL:
Okay not literally but there is a place called “Hell” here and it is worth it to visit! If you do visit it, you can than say you went to Hell & back while visiting the Cayman islands LOL. It consists of a cool rock formation from hundreds of years ago that have now become a little tourist attraction.
Cost: free, bumper sticker, $2 ( worth it)
5. Eden rock:
This is some of the most incredible snorkeling I have ever done in my life! Don’t get me wrong, I am no expert but I would say swimming over caves with ocean life all over is pretty incredible. We have seen parrot fish to turtles to everything in between.
Cost: free
6. Spotts beach:
Okay so if you really want the “real” swimming with turtles experience you should go here. You can literally swim with turtles in the wild and it is awesome. There is nothing else like it! I swear time was in slow motion while I was swimming with them and I couldn’t believe it was real.
Cost: free
7. Starfish point:
Everyone loves looking at colorful starfish and it is even better seeing them in their natural habitat. Not to mention this beach is all the heart eyes. The water is so clear and shallow that you can walk a good couple miles out and it will still be knee deep!
Cost: free
8.George town:
I could be biased because I work here but this is the place to go when you want to shop, dine or just enjoy a nice place to walk around. When you get sick of the beach (is that even possible?!) you can enjoy the colorful buildings and island vibe while wondering around.
Cost:free
Restaurants cost: $12+ average meal
9. Rum point:
Well I don’t drink but if I did, I’m sure this is the place to go (hence the name) but apart from that, the snorkeling and atmosphere is very enjoyable. There is a beautiful dock and free beach chairs. So sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful view that this place has to offer.
Cost: free
10. Smiths cove:
Last but not least, this beach is one of our favorite places to enjoy. Now partly because it’s a 5 minute walk from our townhouse ( I know I know life is hard out here) but it is also SO stunning. It is the most perfect little inlet of water surrounded by beautiful rocks and prime snorkeling. Clint loves night snorkeling here ( I do not condone this behavior) but he has seen octopus, sting rays and other nocturnal creatures. It is the perfect place to watch the sunset and listen to the waves crash upon the shore.
